Our System of Education

Lets Discuss our system of education in India. The admission of a child in a coaching center has become the hell of a job. Admission test is simply a formality, an eye-wash. Actually what is seen is the size of the pocket of the parents. Amount Fee is being given fancy names to befool helpless parents and exploit them.

Liberalization has let loose the dogs of consumerism and this has eaten into the very values. School admission is governed by the economic law of demand and supply. Status-conscious parents are ready to give any amount of money to seek admission of their children in a coaching centre.

Public Coaching Centre

Most of the public coaching centre are dignified teaching shops. They mint money and pick the pockets of trapped parents. Tests are held for admission to float a feeling of impartiality and of a fair-and-square game. Tests are fraud. The highest bidder gets the seat.  No receipt is issued for capitation fee.

This way it generates black money. The tragedyis people who denounce capitation fee themselves pay it. Like bribery, capitation fee should be made a cognizable offence. Education should not be commercialized. Let schools be temples and not money-minting mills.

The greatest defect in our present system of education is that it is too theoretical. An educated man has only bookish knowledge. He knows nothing about practical things. The present system of education gives too much importance to English. At many places, it is the medium of instruction.

English may be an international language. It may have rich treasures of science and literature. It can never be our national language. Education must be in the mother tongue. This will save much talent of the country from going waste.

Vocational Education

Vocational education is the need of the hour. We need more and more technicians, engineers and doctors. The number of vocational institutions — engineering and Medical Colleges, Polytechnics and I.T.I.’s —is limited. A large number of young men and women. They can do well as technicians, are deprived of technical or vocational knowledge. Graduation system was designed to vocational education and to channelize the talent to different fields. Different states have taken to it only half-heartedly. As the things stand today, this 10 + 2 + 3 system has become a riddle. No one knows what exactly it is.

Our system of education really needs to be overhauled and made purposeful. Mannat Nursing Academy Provide free Education to all poor students.
